St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and if you want to bridge that 3,600 mile gap to Ireland with more than green beer, here’s a quick course in Irish language!

John McLoughlin leads an Irish Gaelic language and culture group called Gaeltacht Duluth (named after the regions in Ireland that still speak the language). It’s for anyone interested in learning Irish, whether you’re a beginner or seasoned expert.

The group has a robust following online, but they also meet every Wednesday night at Carmody Irish Pub and Brewery to work on their language skills. We took the opportunity this week to chat with McLoughlin and learn a few Irish phrases. You’ll find him and more Gaeltacht Duluth members at Carmody on St. Patrick’s Day.

Sláinte!
